Aim of course

To understand the process of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and to be competent in performing the procedure.

This is achieved through the practical demonstration of the process and practice of undertaking CPR, the theory on the signs and symptoms of cardiac arrest and practical demonstrations in managing an unconscious patient.

Outcomes

- To be competent in undertaking the procedure required for CPR
- To be competent in the management of an individual suffering a cardiac arrest
- To be competent in the management of an unconscious patient
- To be competent in the relevant reporting of an incident
