Aim of Course

To be aware of safe and current practice in moving and handling.  Knowledge of the legislation relevant to health and safety practices.

We recommend that moving and handling training should be undertaken prior to commencing work in healthcare.

Outcomes

- Knowledge and understanding of legislation in respect to manual handling
- Knowledge and understanding of risk assessment, using the ergonomic approach
- An awareness and direct practice of current manual handling techniques

Further Study

Moving and Handling courses are valid for one year and half-day refresher courses are available to ensure your skills and knowledge in this area are maintained.
