Bridges Healthcare - Staff Information

We employ experienced, fully qualified nurses and healthcare assistants. All our employees undergo our thorough recruitment process including a detailed application form, a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check, two recent employer references and a thorough Occupational Health check.

All new staff undergo a rigorous Induction process undertaken by our Education and Training department. Where evidence is not given of relevant, up to date certification of training, all new employees undertake training during the Induction period so that all new staff meet the minimum requirements to work.

All our nurses are certified by their appropriate professional body and in the event that their registration is shortly to expire we require documented evidence of re-registration before we allow continuation of employment.

All our healthcare assistants must meet minimum requirements of training. Where a relevant, up to date certificate is not provided our Education and Training department provide the relevant training so that every healthcare assistant has a full complement of qualifications.

Our Induction for healthcare assistants is designed to provide a solid foundation in knowledge and understanding of health and social care. This subsequently provides an excellent basis for undertaking studies for the NVQ II in Health and Social Care, and furthermore for the NVQ III in Health and Social Care, the training for which our Education and Training department provides.

We actively encourage all our staff to complete their NVQ II in Health and Social Care and having undertaken our thorough Induction process the graduation is not as great as moving straight to undertaking the NVQ II.

In addition to qualifications, several practical sessions are observed in order to assess the level and competency of each new employee to ensure the highest standards of care are met.

We work to ensure all our nurses and healthcare assistants meet the highest expectation in terms of professional accreditation, competency, attitude and personality and encourage continuous professional development.

We provide experienced, appropriately skilled nurses and healthcare assistants, community nursing practitioners and theatre staff to cover staff shortages, both for short term and ongoing contracts.

We act promptly in responding to staffing needs and maintaining effective staff coverage. Our commitment is to provide nurses and healthcare staff who meet the highest professional standards.
