Ref: NS2/G3

You will undertake a range of delegated clinical patient care duties in a hospital or similar setting.

Duties may include:

- Assisting patients with bathing, washing, shaving and oral hygiene

- Toilet and continence requirements

- General patient observations and nursing related activities

- Moving and handling patients safely

- Assistance with eating and drinking

- Handling personal possessions and documents

- Maintaining the orderliness, hygiene and safety of the ward/ departmental / patient environment

- Updating patient records, observations, etc.

- May undertake some clerical duties

- Assisting qualified staff in delivering care. May act on own initiative in delivering care but will work as directed by the patient’s care plan and under the direction of a Nurse Manager or Team Leader. Supervision / management will be available

It is essential you have NVQ level 2 in Care AND working towards NVQ level 3 OR Knowledge of and competence in personal care acquired  through experience, NVQ level 3 equivalent.

It is desirable that you have NVQ Level 3.

You should have proven experience (at least 2 years) in the area of assignment and evidence of skills development.
