You will be required to undertake personal care duties for patients in a hospital or similar setting.

Duties may include:

- Assisting patients with bathing, washing, shaving and oral hygiene

- Toilet and continence requirements

- General patient observations and other nursing related activities

- Moving and handling patients safely

- Assisting with eating and drinking

- Handling personal possessions and documents

- Maintaining the orderliness, hygiene and safety of the ward/ departmental / patient environment

- Updating patient records, recording observations, etc.

- May undertake some clerical duties

- Assisting qualified staff by carrying out routine personal care duties.   Supervision / management will be available

It is essential that you have an NVQ level II in Care OR working towards NVQ level 2 OR have knowledge of and competence in personal care acquired through experience, NVQ level 2 equivalent.

It is desirable that you have an NVQ Level 2.

You should have at least 6 months proven experience in a hospital / care environment and experience in the area of the assignment.
