Nurse Specialist / Team Leader (Paeds/NICU/PICU)

A band 5 Nurse Specialist / Team Leader to work with children and Infants in a hospital setting .

The Role:
Assesses patients, plans and implements care for children and infants.
Provides specialist advice and maintains associated records.
Carries out specialist nursing procedures e.g. symptom management.
Provides clinical supervision to other staff, students.
Provides clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff.
May ensure effective running of ward/dept in absence of Nurse Team Manger.
May undertake research, lead clinical audits within own specialist area.
You need to be registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register and with the relevant post registration qualification as required for the assignment: RN (Child) / RN8 Registered Nurse with relevant post registration diploma level specialist training or equivalent as required for the assignment OR RN(Adult) / RN1/ RN2 Registered Nurse with ENB 415 or 405 course, (or equivalent post registration diploma course achieved through an Institute of Higher Education) and a qualification in Paediatric Life Support.
You will need a minimum of 2 years post registration experience in paediatrics along with current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice within the paediatric speciality relevant to the assignment. An Advanced Life Support and Teaching & assessing qualification is desirable but not required.
