The Role:
Assesses , plans and implements care for children and their families
Provides advice and maintains associated records.
Carries out nursing procedures.
May provide clinical supervision and managerial leadership to other staff, students.
Works within codes of practice and professional guidelines.

You need to be registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register for the assignment: RN (Child) / RN8 and  RN1 / RN2 with a post registration course in neonatal or paediatrics.
You will need to provide current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice within paediatrics in a field appropriate to the assignment and if newly qualified (within the last year) you will need to provide evidence that a preceptorship programme has been completed successfully.
A teaching & assessing qualification is desirable but not required.
