Nurse (Mental Health Child)

A band 5 nurse to work with children and their families in clinics and in hospital settings.
Ref: NS11/MH5
The Role:
Assesses patients, plans and implements individual care programmes and therapeutic interventions.
Provides individual support for children / young people and their families with a mental health problem to enable them to live in the community and make their own choices.
Works within an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care with an emphasis on promoting independence and rehabilitation.
Carries out nursing procedures.
May provide clinical supervision to other staff, students.
You are required to be registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register for the assignment: RN (Mental Health ) RN3, RN4 OR RN (Child) RN8.
1 year post registration experience in child mental health is required along with current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice within a mental health setting appropriate to the assignment. If you are newly qualified (within the last year evidence that a preceptorship programme has been completed successfully is required.
A teaching & assessing qualification is desirable but not required.
