Nurse Team Manager (Learning Disabilities Community)

£23.80ph London

A band 7 nurse to care for people with learning disabilities in the home, in clinics and in intermediate care settings.

Ref: CS22/MH7

This role:
Leads nursing services for people with learning disabilities.
Works in partnership with the wider primary care team, social services, educational and voluntary sector staff.
Assesses specialist care needs, implements and monitors care plans and provides specialist advice.
Leads practice development and trains learning disability staff, patients and carers.
Manages team resources and staff.
Provides skilled, professional assessment of health needs, relevant nursing care and health information to members of the community.
Provides specialist advice and maintains associated records.
Carries out nursing procedures e.g. injections, intravenous infusion.
Provides clinical leadership to the learning disability nursing team and co-ordinates nursing team work loads.
Carries out recruitment and appraisal.

For this role you need to be registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register for the assignment: RN (Learning Disabilities ) RN5, RN6
You need to have the relevant diploma level specialist training or equivalent as required for the assignment, evidence of continuing professional education, ENB 998 or equivalent Teaching & assessing qualification.
As well as this you need to have a minimum of four years post registration experience, at least 2 years experience within the field of assignment and current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice, staff management and supervision experience.
