This role:
Manages team of community psychiatric nurses and other staff covering a geographical area.
Assesses mental health patients, plans and implements care in the community.
Provides skilled, professional assessment of health needs, relevant nursing care and health information to members of the community.
Provides specialist advice and maintains associated records.
Carries out nursing procedures e.g. injections, intravenous infusion.
Provides clinical leadership to the community Psychiatric nursing team and co-ordinates nursing team work loads.
Works in partnership with the wider primary care team and other agencies in planning and assessing programmes of care.
Organises community placements for students, provides induction training, clinical supervision.
Carries out recruitment and appraisal.

For this role you need to be registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register for the assignment: RN (Mental Health ) RN3, RN4 .
You need to have the relevant diploma level specialist training or equivalent as required for the assignment, evidence of continuing professional education, ENB 998 or equivalent Teaching & assessing qualification.
As well as this you need to have a minimum of four years post registration experience, at least 2 years experience within the field of assignment and current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice, staff management and supervision experience and crisis management and intervention experience.
