You will undertake a range of delegated patient care duties in a range of community mental health settings including the home, clinics and intermediate care settings, assist with the implementation of individual care programmes and may participate in therapeutic interventions. You will provide individual support for people with a mental health problem to live in the community and make their own choices and may assist patients with aspects of their personal care as necessary.
You will work within an interdisciplinary team to achieve the highest possible standard of therapeutic care, assist qualified staff in delivering care and may work alone but will work as directed by the patient’s care plan and under the direction of a Senior Community Nurse or Team Leader and supervision / management will be available.

All Newly appointed / registered workers (within last 2 years) need to have an NVQ level 2 in Care AND be working towards NVQ level 3 (registered for the NVQ in Care award within 6 months of registering with the agency) OR Knowledge of and competence in personal care and domestic procedures acquired through experience, NVQ level 3 equivalent.
Proven experience of working within a mental health setting at band 3 level or equivalent (at least 6 months) is required and the NVQ level 3 is desirable but not required.
