You will undertake a range of delegated patient care duties within mental health settings including hospitals, and clinics, assist with the implementation of individual care programmes and may participate in therapeutic interventions. The role will mean you will provide individual support for people with a mental health problems, may assist patients with aspects of their personal care as necessary.

This may include:
Bathing, washing, shaving and oral hygiene
Toilet and continence requirements
General patient observations and other health related activities
Moving and handling
Eating and meals
Handling personal possessions and documents
You will work within an interdisciplinary team to achieve the highest possible standard of therapeutic care, assist qualified staff in delivering care you may also work alone but will work as directed by the patient’s care plan and under the direction of a Nurse Manager or Team Leader, supervision / management will be available.

NVQ level 2 in Care AND working towards NVQ level 3 OR knowledge of and competence in care acquired through experience, NVQ level 3 equivalent is required along with proven experience (at least 2 years) of working within a mental health setting at band 3 level or equivalent.
NVQ Level 3 is desirable but not required.
