Theatre Nurse Specialist

A band 6 Theatre Nurse Specialist needed to work with patients in Anaesthetics, Theatre or Recovery.
Ref: TH5/C6
You will assesse, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care for patients undergoing theatre procedures, prepare and assemble theatre instruments / equipment, carry out nursing procedures, provide clinical or day to day supervisions to junior staff, students and may act as a mentor or assessor. You will works within codes of practice and professional guidelines and may ensure effective running of dept in absence of Nurse Team Manger.
You need to be registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register for the assignment
Assignments in Adult or Paediatric areas: RN (Adult) / RN1/ RN2
Assignments in Paediatric areas: RN (Child) / RN8 Registered Nurse
You also need to have a relevant post registration course in Theatre Nursing achieved through an Institute of Higher Education (Level 3) as required for the assignment, evidence of skills development and Intermediate Life Support. 2 years plus, post registration experience in the Theatre Department is required along with current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice within an area appropriate to the assignment. Advanced Life Support and a teaching & assessing qualification is desirable but not required.
