You will be responsible for the delivery of care to prisoners who require nursing support within a range of healthcare activities. These  may include outpatients, inpatients, primary care and chronic disease management, mental health services, substance misuse services, etc.

You will assess patients, plan and implement care in prison and provide skilled, professional assessment of health needs, relevant nursing care and health information.  You will provide advice and maintain associated records, carry out nursing procedures and may also be required to provide clinical supervision to other staff and students.

Providing clinical leadership to the nursing team you will co-ordinate the nursing team workloads and provide induction training and do clinical supervision.  You will work within an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care with an emphasis on promoting independence and rehabilitation as well as curative care.

You will have a minimum of two years post registration experience and at least 1 year  (within last 6 months) evidence based practice  caring for people in prison in a health care setting  appropriate to the field of the assignment.
