Nurse (Prisons)

£18.70ph London

Nurse required to work with patients in prisons and other secure settings.

Ref: CS12/G5

You will be responsible for the delivery of care to prisoners who require nursing support within a range of healthcare activities.  These may include outpatients, inpatients, primary care and chronic disease management as well as mental health services.

You will assess patients, plan and implement care in prison, provides advice and maintain associated records, carry out nursing procedures.  You may also provide clinical supervision to other staff and students and will work within an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care with an emphasis on promoting independence and rehabilitation as well as curative care.  You will works within the codes of practice and professional guidelines and the work will be managed rather than supervised.

You will have current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice within a primary care field appropriate to the assignment.  If newly qualified (within the last year) you will need to provide evidence that a preceptorship programme has been completed successfully.
