Midwife Higher Level/Team Manager

£29.60ph London

A band 7 higher level midwife needed to work with women, babies and their families.

Ref: MW3/M7

The role assesses the full range of care needs and develops, implements and evaluates programmes of care throughout the ante-natal, intra-partum and post-natal period for women and their babies. It provides a full range of health education and social care advice to women in a range of settings pre-conceptually, antenatally and postnatally. You will act as a mentor for less experienced midwives and other staff and work autonomously within NMC midwives rules & standards, other NMC guidelines, statutory supervision and spheres of professional practice.

You need to be a RM Registered Midwife, with an active NMC registration. You need evidence of continued professional development (with an up to date personal professional portfolio).
Must have undertaken a minimum of 35 hours of learning activity relevant to your practice during the 3 year period prior to the renewal of registration. You need to have had adult and neonatal resuscitation training and training/skills drills in obstetric emergencies and must have successfully completed a 12 month foundation gateway and have current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice. You will also need to provide evidence of applying current research to practice along with experience of provision in midwifery care to women with normal and complicated pregnancies.

It is desirable but not essential for you to have theatre experience, home birth experience, ENB 997 or equivalent, as well as advanced Life Support in Obstetrics experience.
